The founders of Schall & Barasch, LLC, Richard
Schall and Patricia Barasch, with over 35 years of experience
between them as employment and labor lawyers, have dedicated
their careers to protecting of the rights of employees
in the State of New Jersey. In the course of those careers,
they have been involved as lawyers in critical, cutting-edge
cases arising under the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination
(NJ LAD) and under the state laws governing non-compete
agreements. Mr. Schall and Ms. Barasch have been repeatedly
recognized (2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008) by New Jersey

Patricia Barasch, a graduate
of Cornell University School of Law, currently serves
as First Vice President of the National Employment Lawyers
Association, the largest and most influential organization
of plaintiff’s employment attorneys in the United
States. In conjunction with representing its more-than-3000
attorney members, NELA is devoted to advocating for
employee rights and workplace fairness in the state
courts, federal courts, United States Supreme Court,
and United States Congress. Ms. Barasch has served in
a leadership position with NELA since her election to
its Executive Board in 2006.
Richard Schall, a Root-Tilden
Scholar and graduate of New York University School of
Law, as well as a former clerk with Judge Dolores Sloviter
of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third
Circuit, served for four years (2000-2004) as President
of the New Jersey affiliate of the National Employment
Lawyers Association (NELA-NJ). Mr. Schall is a 2003
graduate of the Trial Lawyers' College, an intensive
three-week training program for trial lawyers conducted
by the renowned trial lawyer, Gerry Spence, on his ranch
in Wyoming. He has returned for graduate training in
trial work to Mr. Spence’s ranch in 2005 and 2008.
